Write on Single Topic or on Many Before Blogging?

 Many bloggers are confused found a right niche or topic on their blog. Some thought that one blog with many topics is better than only one topic. Actually there is nothing wrong and nothing is forbid if we choose to discuss many topics. But I personally do not recommend for beginners to choose many topics.Why?

Most beginners who choose to discuss many topics are the result of their confusion because they can’t find a topic that really interested them. This kind of Bloggers won’t last long. Only a matter of time until their blog become abandoned and not taken care of.

Indeed, one of the advantages choosing many topics in a blog are we can get unlimited topic and visitors, but can’t focus with what we wrote.

I prefer to create a single topic because of the following reasons:

1.    More focus on content filling Blog

If we have single topic on a blog, we can focus with the content. With single topic we can focus with the goal and targeting visitors. As we know, visitors are potential source for blog. Loyal visitors will back to your blog again to know the latest information you gave.

2.    Easy to get idea on Posting

Many said that single topic blog are difficult to find the idea of ​​posting. It is not entirely true. Bloggers who think like those are just bloggers who choose a topic that he can’t understand the topic. If you choose a topic that really interested and understand, I’m sure to find ideas will be much easier.

Single topic is not really mean specific. A simple example is "Health". The main topic is health but health itself has many subtopics. So there's no reason we'll be having trouble finding an idea.

3.    Give something useful to the reader

Blogging isn't always a matter of money. It doesn't matter if you are aiming to make money on blogging, but it would be more fun if we can provide something useful for others in the form of information and knowledge. With only discuss single topic we can convey information to the reader or anything in more detail and depth. Usually a blog with many topics didn't discuss a topic in detail and depth.

4.    Make it easier to do SEO

We can get a lot of advantages from SEO side if we focus on single topic. Posts on the blog will be more easily appear on the front page of search engines as Google know our blog focusing on the topic. In addition we will be easier to get natural backlinks. The reason is simple; people will have more trust to our blog so that they would be happy to give you a backlink.

5.    Easier to Monetize

Monetizing blog with single topic will be easier because we only focus with one topic. Visitors in single blog usually qualified visitors. Why? Because they come to finds something useful. And after they found it, they will be back again.

I realize that maybe single topic blog have less visitors than blog with many topic. But you must remember, high traffic is not enough to make money. The most important is qualified traffic. This mean organic visitor and loyal visitor (qualified visitors).

6.    Building a blog with many topics are difficult

There are many blog with various topic have huge of visitors and getting a lot of income from it. But it takes a long time and need a team to build that blog.

If you running blog with many topics alone, I’m sure you can’t manage your blog properly. Blog with many topics need extra time and team to manage. It takes a solid team where every topic on the blog has own writers so they can keep focus on developing the blog.
